Macrina Bakery

A true Seattle mainstay, Macrina Bakery was founded by Leslie Mackie and named after a Greek mystic known for her simple, self-sufficient way of life. Guided by the belief that bread-breaking is at the heart of human connection, Mackie built Macrina around the mission of “building community through the joy of artisan baking.” Their rolls are crafted from organic grains and natural ingredients for a warm, wholesome taste that nourishes both body and soul.

Belle Epicureannn

Belle Epicurean is a rare jewel among Seattle bakeries. Founders Carolyn and Howard Ferguson—classically trained pastry chefs who studied at Le Cordon Bleu Paris—started Belle Epicurean in 2003 as a charming University Farmers Market stand before opening their first retail café in the historic Olympic Fairmont Hotel. Today, Belle Epicurean is one of the finest patisseries in the city, serving house-roasted coffee alongside delicate macarons, savory sandwiches, showstopping cakes, and decadent desserts, and every bite feels like a Parisian escape.

Jack’s BBQ

Jack’s BBQ is a love letter to true Central Texas barbecue—no sauce-soaked meats, just the smoky perfection of dry rubs and low-and-slow cooking. Texas native Jack Timmons brought the flavors of his roots to the Pacific orthwest in 2012, starting with a single offset smoker filled with post oak, mesquite, and hickory. Now with seven thriving locations, Jack’s is an old-school masterclass in barbecue—and their award-winning pecan pie, crowned champion at the 1996 Texas State Fair, proves they’ve got a sweet side too.
